Parsley is a project to develop a free, open-source
accounting system for small and very small businesses,
community groups and individuals.
It will be a multi-user web application to make it
easy to employ book-keepers working remotely, and will
enable - but not enforce -
open-book accounting

We are currently looking for partners, contributors
and sponsors.
Support
The free software economy depends on paid support but provides most of it free
We support You
If you use any of our software products, it probably makes practical sense for us
to agree a support contract. How much you pay for this - and what you get in return -
will depend on mutual affordability. If you can't afford a support contract, you can
still use our software and get free support via the mailing-lists and support forums,
to which we will contribute as much time and energy as we can afford.
You Support Yourself
The best arrangement is for you to support yourself. It's the old "teach a man to
fish" proverb, reinvented for today.
Users support each other
This unwritten contract is essential for free software. User mailing lists and
forums - such as those provided on Sourceforge.net - are a great source of support.
Please contribute to them as well as using them!

Java Support
We are essentially java programmers. We will try to make the code that we write
work for you: how hard we try will depend on how much you pay us.
We cannot provide support for other java packages
Java training
We provide voluntary training in writing Java code to unemployed and underemployed
local people with talent and enthusiasm. This is provided informally (i.e. not through
any quango, because we are not formally qualified); contact us for information

Linux Support
We are long-term users of the free GNU/Linux operating system and are happy to
provide support and assistance to other users of the system, particularly those
trying to make the transition from proprietary systems such as Microsoft Windows.
The best source of Linux support however remains the mailing-lists and discussion
forums maintained by the various Linux distributions. This should always be your
first port of call.

Windows Support
Although we write our software in the Java programming language, so that it will run on
a Java Virtual Machine on top of any supported operating system, we do not use Microsoft
software so cannot test it in any way or provide support for operating it on Microsoft
systems.
Proud to be Clear of Windows
We are very proud to be completely clear of Windows. We have not paid any licensing
fees to Microsoft this millennium (i.e. since at least Jan 01 2001), nor have we at
any time knowingly infringed any of Microsoft's copyrights. Private commercial monopolies are damaging,
and by refusing to use Microsoft software, whether licensed or unlicensed, we are
proud to have stood up to the Microsoft Menace.
